Rahul Yadav, co-founder and former CEO of real estate portal Housing.com, has joined ANAROCK Property Consultants, the latest venture by former JLL India head Anuj Puri. Rahul will be joining ANAROCK’s Mumbai office as the chief product and technology officer.
Anuj aims to bring the e-commerce business model to the consumer real estate sector with ANAROCK through a ‘robust technology infrastructure’. And Yadav, having vast experience harnessing the consumer housing market through technology, seemed the ideal fit.
“This appointment is in line with ANAROCK’s highly technology-driven orientation and business model for its residential advisory services,” said Puri, chairman, ANAROCK, in a statement. According to him, the online real estate business in India is in a “fledging state” and has thus far not been able to emulate the success of e-commerce for consumer durables and services. “We intend to change that, and Rahul Yadav’s experience in harnessing the consumer housing market via technology will add the key element,” he added.
Yadav started Housing.com with 11 other co-founders in 2012 which became one of the most funded startups in real estate sector. However, he had to resign from the company due to pressure from investors and board members.
After his departure from Housing.com, Yadav had started a data analytics firm Intelligence Interfaces in September 2016. This venture had also attracted investments from some big names from Indian e-commerce businesses, but it had also shut down within six months.
