In a revolutionary announcement for Indian mobile users, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani unveiled the details about Jio commercial launch at the company’s 42nd annual general meeting (AGM) in Mumbai.
Mukesh Ambani said Reliance Jio will start offering service from September 5 and will be launched commercially on December 31.
Jio will be offering 4G data service at only Rs 50 per GB, which is lowest in the world.

With the launch, Ambani has started a tariff war between Indian telcos. With the launch of Reliance Jio, India will transform from a high price data market to the lowest priced data market, he said.
On top of the data service, Jio will also put an end to voice call charges. All voice calls will be free for Jio customers for ifetime.

Jio apps subscription worth Rs 15,000 will be offered to customers as complimentary until December 31, 2017.
Ambani unveiled a special students discount offer, under which any student will be able to get 25 per cent more data on Jio’s main tariffs.
Customers can get a Jio connection within 15 minutes with e-KYC. Instant eKYC digital activation can be done in the store or at home.
The company has also created a Jio Digital India Startup Fund and is also working to create Digital Entrepreneurship Hubs in key cities.
