OYO Rooms is planning some serious acquisitions this season as our sources have come to know that they are in talks with a Hyperlocal e-commerce start-up called Nexhop from Bangalore.

OYO To Acquire Nexhop

The details of this acquisition are not yet available at this time but as per the sources inside the company, it seems that an acquisition is being planned out to increase the team strength of Oyo Rooms. Our sources say that Oyo is interested in this particular company as they are showing some promising work with Nexhop.

Recently Oyo has raised $100 Million from SoftBank and it seems they are on track to spend the money on increasing their talent pool in the company and expand their operations domestically. Their most recent takeover was of ZO Rooms that was its fierce competitor in the Hotel aggregator space.

The SoftBank backed firm has been in the news recently for its reviews on Facebook and its upgraded Audit requirements for Hotels that rent on its platform. With renewed focus on the quality of the rooms and providing all guaranteed amenities in the Hotel, Oyo is trying to gain more confidence of the Travellers as the sector of online hotel bookings grows.

The scale of operations for Oyo Rooms has also increased immensely from 170 Hotels to 4200 Hotels in 2016. The extensive growth also needs a strong team to support and sustain so that the progress continues and these acquisitions surely seem to be a step in that direction.

We are trying to get more details regarding this acquisition and many more and we will publish them once we hear back from the companies.
