Snapdeal Acquires Letsgomo

With the aim to strengthen its leadership in m-commerce the Indian e-commerce platform Snapdeal today acquired Gurgaon based mobility solutions company Letsgomo Labs.

Founded by Manav Kamboj and Vikas Banga, Letsgomo Labs helps companies with end to end mobility solutions like building mobile strategies, conceptualization of applications and mobile sites, implementation and hosting.

“Mobile is one of our key focus areas and in a span of just two years, the medium has proved to be one of the biggest growth drivers for the company,” said Rohit Bansal, co-founder, Snapdeal.

“Delivering a great user experience across varying data connections and numerous handsets being used in the country is the guiding principle for our mobile initiatives,” he added.

With this acquisition, the 76 member Letsgomo team will join Snapdeal. The Letsgomo website is currently inaccessible and informs that: “We are undergoing a change and working on something interesting.”

As 75% of the orders on Snapdeal are already coming via mobile-based transactions the company wants to maximize this with the help of this acquisition.

“Mobile will continue to drive e-commerce in the country and how companies utilise this platform will be a key success determinant. We look forward to building world class mobile technology at Snapdeal and set new benchmarks for the industry in this space,” Manav Kamboj, co-founder, Letsgomo said.

Recently Snapdeal acquired the leading mobile and DTH recharge company Freecharge at a valuation of $450 Million.
