An average office worker spends more than nine hours every day at the office which roughly equals to 1800 hours of seating & staring at the computer screen in a year! Going by this figure, it’s obvious why we often fall sick or even catch ourselves thinking about the next vacation during these never-ending office hours. After various failed attempts by employers to make the situation better by focussing on illness protection, screenings, weekend outings; there was hardly any significant improvement until – Wellness Co-Working Workplace. A program that revolutionizes the way we work not just by adding inspirational backgrounds but connecting us to belongingness by a sense of community and ways to nurture the body and soul simultaneously. Today, at The Startup Journal we are starting the conversation about THE MOSAIC– the much-needed transformation in our work life.
How is THE MOSAIC Transforming the Workplace Scenario?
THE MOSAIC creates a nurturing environment that inspires members to pursue their passions while having fun. An abstract investment in recreating workspace can lead to better emotional and economic rewards while yielding healthier employees with lesser sick-leaves and happier employees experiencing lesser turn-overs. It has been found that details of lights, art, plants, furniture and shared screen monitors help in reducing stress, fighting depression while increasing productivity and well-being of the employees. The Mosaic strives to bring out the same, appealing to a sense of balance inside out narrowing the distance between nature and like-minded co-workers, to help you be the best version of yourselves at work.
How Did The Inception Of Wellness First Co-Working Space In India Take Place?
Fairly new to the Indian cosmos, co-working spaces started to trend in the mid 2017’s in India and since then there has been mushrooming of the same in the urban areas, especially in the start-up friendly metros. But it was just being skewed to lower rentals than actually providing a space that would enhance work-productivity and cater to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Speaking about the same exclusively with The Startup Journal, Mr. Gokul Das, MD & CEO of THE MOSAIC said:

“We realized that there could be a significant opportunity in targeting well-being from a holistic perspective and creating a job space targeting your body, mind, and soul. We have tried to plug this gap by creating spaces that have strived to bring nature indoors with lots of plants, light, creating an open environment to facilitate sharing and in the process creating both ecological and ergonomic space. THE MOSAIC was thus born in our sincere attempt to provide a premium co-working that is not only visually appealing but at the same time imbibes wellness at its core, helping our members reduce stress while at work and bringing out the best in them.”
Prior to co-funding THE MOSAIC, Mr. Gokul Das was a senior business leader in the BFSI sector and had successfully devised strategic & tactical solutions to catapult company’s visibility and build businesses from the ground-up. With a career spanning over three decades, he has worked in the US, Europe, Singapore, India and the Middle East with many respected financial institutions like Citibank, Standard Chartered among others.
What Is The USP Of The Mosaic That Stands Out & What Is The Revenue Model For The Same?
Originating at Andheri in Mumbai, THE MOSAIC believes that wellness has a direct impact on productivity, taking from this, and has imbibed the concept of ‘Body-Mind-Soul’ in every aspect of the space, be it design and ambience or the value-added services and that’s its USP – nature, Zumba, meditation, books, important people, beautiful lounges all under one roof!

The revenue model is simple, having both fixed and flexible desk options, which can be rented on monthly to yearly basis. They also provide office cubicles with four or more seating, which are again rented on monthly to yearly basis. The pricing is premium as this startup wants to be a niche player providing an environment that is holistic and incorporates wellness.
Where Is THE MOSAIC Going In The Next Five Years?
After opening the first center in Andheri, Mumbai with occupancy of 150 seats, THE MOSAIC plans to open in 5 new markets across tier I and tier II cities in the short to mid-term across Pan India. The long-term goal is to expand overseas and be amongst the top 3 players in each of the operating markets in the future.

Apart from that, this startup has an ever-growing team to deliver best in class hospitality experience for the members.
